Worcester ACID ATTACK: Three men arrested over 'PURE EVIL' assault on boy, 3

THREE men have been arrested in connection with a suspected acid attack on a three-year-old boy in Worcester.

The suspects, aged 22, 25 and 26, were detained in London on suspiction of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, West Mercia Police said. 

A 39-year old man from Wolverhapton was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of comspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and remains in custody. 

The toddler was in a pushchair with his family in a Home Bargains store in Tallow Hill on Saturday afternoon when a corrosive substance was "thrown or sprayed" over him. 

He was taken to hospital and treated for burns to his face and one of his arms before being released on Sunday afternoon.

West Mercia Police do not yet know the long-term implications of the toddler's injuries and are continuing to appeal for information over the incident.

Detective Inspector Tony Garner said: "We'd like to thank everyone who shared our appeal over the weekend and contacted us with information; all of this is helping us to build up a better picture of this incident.

"We're continuing to urge anyone else with information to contact us."

Worcester City Council leader Marc Bayliss had described the attack as "absolutely pure evil".

He said: “Worcester is not that sort of place.

“We are a quintessential small English city. I have never heard of an acid attack in Worcester so this is absolutely not something we have any experience of.

"We are a very safe city. We are one of the safest places in England according to statistics.”

Conservative MP for Worcester Robin Walker had said: “The shock will be universal.

“Anyone conducting such an attack on a small child is just appalling.

If you see by the color of the skin, they are genuine and genuine English !!!!!
